General
All prices quoted are in UK Pounds Sterling. All prices quoted include Theft Protection and VAT. All prices include 150 miles per day if no other stated in the rental agreement. Excess mileage charged at 25p per mile + VAT. Vehicles with high value (over £50,000) may be charged for excess mileage at higher rate. A credit card deposit is required on all hires depending on vehicle type between £500 and £5000, if no other stated.
The Customer undertakes to ensure that the vehicle is not subject to overloading in respect of number of persons or weight of goods carried within the vehicle during the rental period.
If the vehicle is used outside the mainland UK, the Customer undertakes to ensure that the vehicle is checked for illegal immigrants before returning to the UK.
The Customer undertakes to return the vehicle with all tires, tools, audio equipment and other accessories in the same condition as when received to the place and on the date set down overleaf.
If special cleaning is required for whatever reason Targus Ltd will make a separate charge to cover the cost of any cleaning and/or repair work required.
Where the vehicle develops a fault during the rental period owing to any reason whatsoever, the Customer undertakes to inform the Targus Ltd immediately, and not to use the vehicle while it is in an unroadworthy condition.
Targus Ltd undertakes to provide a vehicle to the Customer which is in good working order and which functions satisfactorily throughout the rental period.
If the vehicle breaks down during the rental period (but only for reasons attributable to the Targus Ltd's negligence or willful default), the Targus Ltd undertakes to place the Customer in the position which he/she would have been in had the breach not taken place.
Therefore the Targus Ltd will, if the vehicle breaks down in mainland UK, arrange recovery and repair of the rented vehicle so that it is rendered functional to a satisfactory extent, for the remainder of the rental period and/or where the rented vehicle cannot be so repaired, provision of a replacement vehicle of an equivalent standard and size to the rented vehicle, to the Customer for the remainder of the rental period.
Provision of this service in circumstances other than those shown above shall be at the discretion of the Targus Ltd. In the event that a vehicle on rent reaches the mileage at which a routine service is due the Customer undertakes to notify the Targus Ltd and make that vehicle available to the Targus Ltd for such servicing to be carried out or for the vehicle to be replaced at the Targus Ltd's discretion.
If a vehicle is delivered to the Customer, the Customer is liable for the cost of the fuel from the time it leaves the Targus Ltd until such time as it is returned to a Targus Ltd. All vehicles will be refueled upon return to a Targus Ltd and the Customer accepts responsibility for the cost of such refueling at the prevailing Targus Ltd rate per liter.
The Customer is liable for all penalties incurred during the rental period including parking, clamping, bus lane and speeding fines, congestion and compound charges and in addition when the Targus Ltd has to provide the Customer's details to the authority levying such penalty. At the termination of the rental it is the Customer's responsibility to ensure that the vehicle is parked in a suitable place to allow collection at any time up to a period of 6 hours from termination without the imposition of any parking or clamping fines or towing or compound charges.
Customer must pay the appropriate authority any fines and costs if and when the authority demands this payment. If Customer does not, Customer will be responsible to pay our reasonable administration charges which arise when we deal with these matters.
The reasonable cost of repairing any extra damage which was not noted on our vehicle check form at the start of the agreement, whether Customer was at fault or not. And the reasonable cost of replacing the vehicle if it is stolen, depending on any insurance you have, if and when we demand this payment.
A loss-of-income charge, when we demand it, if we cannot rent out the vehicle because it needs to be repaired, it is a write-off (can't be repaired) or it has been stolen and we are waiting to receive full payment of the vehicle's value.
We will only charge Customer for loss of income if we can't get back the losses under the Insurance Programme. We will charge Customer at the published daily rate and we will always do everything we can to make sure the vehicle is repaired or we get payment as soon as possible.
Any charges arising from Customs and Excise or Vehicle Inspectorate seizing the vehicle, together with a loss-of-income charge while we cannot rent out the vehicle, if and when we demand this payment.
Any published rates for delivering and collecting the vehicle.
Interest which we will add every day to any amount Customer do not pay us on time, at the rate of 4% a year above the base lending rate of HSBC Bank from time to time.
Value added tax and all other taxes on any of the charges listed above, as appropriate
Customers are responsible for all charges, even if you have asked someone else to be responsible for them.
The vehicle will not be used:
•For the carriage of passengers or property for hire or reward (excluding Chauffeur Services, where no more than 2 drivers are using the car).
•For racing, pace making, reliability trials speed testing or driving instruction.
•To propel or tow any other vehicle or trailer without the Targus Ltd's written consent has been obtained.
•Use the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
•Use it for a purpose for which Customer need a license if Customer do not have one.
•In violation of the provision of any legislation, order or regulation affecting the use, loading or condition of the vehicle or for any illegal purpose.
•Outside mainland United Kingdom without the express agreement of the Company.
Age Limits All drivers must be over 23 years and under 70 years of age and must have held a valid license for at least one year, which must be presented at the time of rental.
Certain endorsements may not be accepted, please check when making your reservation.
Loss or Damage to Vehicle Liability for each and every accident involving any damage to or loss of the vehicle, and/or 3rd party vehicle during the rental period depends on the insurance excess for that vehicle. N.B. Conditions apply.
All faults or damages described below should immediately be reported to Targus Limited:
•Knocks in a suspension bracket
•Damage of tyres
•Interior damage (scratches on leather)
•Damages caused by automatic or manual carwash
•Scratches on front and back headlights
•Damage on glass or mirrors.
It is important to inform Targus Limited about the exact mileage when required. For giving false information, Targus Limited reserves the right to charge your card for the sum which will be calculated according to the prospective damage which has been caused by the wrongly given information, all job quotations and invoices proving any made job will be available upon the request. In case of missed payments, client is given 5 working days to clear the outstanding balance, if that balance is not cleared within 5 working days, then during the next 14 days period client is charged missed payment fee on top of outstanding amount. Those fees are charged on every day basis, on top of the current amount of the money owed. If at the end of a 14 day period the client does not payout his debt, then Targus Limited has the right to terminate the contract and withdraw the car from a client.
In case of termination of contract customer is liable for the early collection charges, and any charges raising due to early collection, plus remaining 50% of the future payments agreed in the contract, according to the dates of the present contract. If this sum is not paid by the client within 28 days, all the clients’ details are going to be passed to debt collection agency or to court in order to recover clients debt. In addition to the amount owed, all the administrative fees and VAT and any other additional fees that will arise during this process will be added on top of the total debt.
Additional Driver There is NO charge for an additional driver. His/her license must be seen at the commencement of hire. NO OTHER PERSON MAY DRIVE THE VEHICLE.
Early Termination Targus Limited does not allow refunds in the event of the hire being terminated early. We may suggest that the vehicle is booked only for the period required. If the hirer wishes to extend the rental, he/she must inform Targus Limited.
Availability of Vehicles Every effort will be made to provide the vehicle chosen. However, Targus Limited reserves the right to offer the nearest vehicle model as an alternative.
Additional Hours All hires are taken on a 24 hour basis. Vehicles returned later than the time stated on the rental agreement will be charged accordingly.
Petrol The cost of petrol/diesel is not included in the rates. Vehicles are supplied with an adequate amount of petrol/diesel and should be returned with a similar quantity. Petrol/diesel required to refill cars to this level will incur a surcharge.
Payment We accept all major credit cards, including MasterCard, Visa, Switch, Amex, and Visa Delta. Account facilities are available to UK Companies - please ask for details.
Overseas Use Vehicles must not leave mainland Britain without the prior notice to Targus Ltd.
Traffic Violations Targus Limited reserves the right to levy an administration charge of £35 + VAT for the processing of any traffic violations incurred during a hire period.
